From holding outdoor family photoshoots I've seen some of the most fantastic locations North Yorkshire has to offer us, it all depends on what location fits your family best. Do your children love walking through the woods discovering all of the different types of trees, do they love climbing rocks, playing in water or been surrounded by beautiful flowers. For me the most important part is for you and your children to feel comfortable in the setting around you so they can feel relaxed and the natural connections between you show up.
Valley Gardens - Harrogate
Valley Gardens is especially beautiful in Summer, there are gardens, a play park, lots of space to run around. So it makes for a beautiful backdrop.
Another area in Harrogate that provides the most spectacular back drop in The Stray in Spring, the cherry blossom trees bloom mid April - the end of April.
Golden Acre park - Leeds
This place really has it all, lots of open space to run around and play games, a wooded area, a beautiful lake with interesting water birds, a nature reserve and a great garden space. This really is a good all year area to visit.
Harlow Carr - Harrogate
If your looking for a back drop of gorgeous flowers in Summer, this is your place! Their fantastic gardens offer plenty of space to run around whilst also been able to take in the beauty of the colourful flowers. Another place with a simliar feel is Temple Newsum in Leeds, they offer plenty of garden space and have a fantastic honey suckle archway that blooms around May/June time.
Studley park/ Fountains Abbey - Ripon
I personally feel that Studley park is the most amazing place to go for a family photoshoot in the Summer as well as Autumn, with it's many trees, it creates a lovely Autumn feel with the colourful leaves falling to the ground.
But Fountains Abbey is an outstanding space during the Summer, with it's ancient Abbey as a backdrop and pkenty of space to explore makes it a really fun area for children.
